We really love to travel. The last place we traveled to was Antigua 8 months ago… which was SO amazing!) We had big plans to do all this traveling our first year of marriage, and it seems that we’ve slacked a bit in that department. However, today we are headed to Seattle, and I am super excited!
It’s my husband’s 30th birthday on February 25th, so we wanted to do something really fun to celebrate. Neither of us have ever traveled to the Pacific Northwest region, so we are really excited to go!
Today, I wanted to share what I typically take with me when traveling.
First, I absolutely LOVE my carry-on tote that I got from Stella & Dot. It was definitely a great purchase! The best part about it, is that it unzips and actually gets BIGGER. Say whaaaat?!? There have been so many times where this little featured has saved me. I’m a notorious over packer… oops. This bag comes in several colors and patterns which is great!
I also usually bring my carry-on suitcase as well, and I keep all my toiletries, makeup, and jewelry in it. I just always feel more comfortable having this stuff with me! I also throw in an extra change of clothes just in case something happens with our checked luggage…
This is the luggage we just got for our wedding. It is AMAZING. It’s the SwissGear Hardside Spinner luggage. I got white and the hubs got black. I love the hard outside and the 4 wheels make is super easy to maneuver in the airport.
So anyway, back to what’s in my actual carry-on tote.
I ALWAYS have a book with me. Actually, I usually bring a couple! I’m a fast reader.. LOL! For this trip, I’m bringing The 5th Wave, and Gone Girl. I have never read anything from Rick Yancey, but I’m a huge fan of sci-fi fiction, so I think I’m going to like this one! I have read two other novels by Gillian Flynn, Sharp Objects and Dark Places. I chose to read those first because I’d already seen the Gone Girl movie (I’m so annoyed, because I ALWAYS read the book first! LOL) and I knew I wanted to read the book eventually but just wanted to read some of her other stuff. So, I’m finally getting around to reading Gone Girl and I know I’m going to love it. She’s an incredible author!
Probably the most important thing I put in my tote is SNACKS! I’m not sure when or why this started, but Gardettos are always my go-to snack for plane rides. Not the healthiest option… but sometimes you just have to have some fun right!? Of course I also try to have some healthy snacks in there too, like Skinny Pop, almonds, and of course WATER because I am always so thirsty! My other guilty plane snack in fruit Mentos… 🙂
I also have to keep some sort of lip balm in my bag. Everything always seems so dry when you’re flying!!
Another must have in my bag is a blanket and/or sweater. I am always freezing on planes, so I have to be prepared!
My ipad, headphones, and of course some Advil tops off my bag.
We’re off to the airport! Hope y’all have a great weekend.
